Another recreational area is the Scarborough Marsh, 3,100 acres of preserved land home to various wildlife. The state's largest marsh is critical to Maine's ecology. The tidal estuaries create a maze of waterways in the marsh. You can go kayaking and canoeing on the waterways as you explore the extensive marsh with lots of birds and waterfowl.
Scarborough boasts several festivals, including the Memorial Day Parade and Summer Fest Heritage Day. These two are must-attends with lots of family-fun activities and entertainment.
